I don't even know where to begin! It was just an amazing experience over all. My exchange partner,Lena and her family welcomed me with such open and loving arms into their house. They treated me like I was one of them! I couldn't have asked for a better host family!

My host parents were the sweetest! They took me and showed me around their work places, their village, everywhere! We also visited Lena's grandparents and her Aunt one day. They were a delight!

One of my favourite things we did was,the six of us sat around the table everyday after we've had our dinner and played this game called "The Donkey." It's a very fun game.

They also taught me a lot of new German words. They were the best host family I could've ever hoped for :)

I visited a lot of places! I had so much fun everywhere!
  • Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany, wasn't as cold as I thought it would be! It was alright,or maybe I was just covered in layers :P It was so beautiful, the snow! We had snow fights,I got snow in my hair a couple of times. We made a snowman, which to me,looks like a snow dog :P Also, Keryn,Varshini and I laid down on the snow and moved our arms and legs to make snow angels. They turned out pretty well!

  • Nordlingen,we had to climb about 300 stairs to reach the top of "Daniel." After all the panting and whining about it,we finally reached the top.I have to admit,300 steps was worth the view. It was absolutely incredible!

  • I went to Munich about three times! All of our exchange partners took us there for shopping one day. We also got the opportunity to interview an Indian family living in Munich about their lifestyle there.
  • We did a lot of indoor sports stuff (kind of) one day. Like, rock climbing, etc., It was quite hard and tiring although I liked it. I was surprised that I didn't fall though.
  • We went to the Pottenstein cave as well, which was quite scary. Full of bones and icky stuff everywhere! Thankfully,I didn't scream when I saw the bones of a bear.

I was so happy to see my mum and my sister waiting for me at the airport. It was so nice to see my family! My mum ran up to me with her arms wide open and hugged me tight! I still remember what I felt when I saw my mum,the feeling I got when it came to me that I can sleep in my own bed again,I can eat Dosa and Samhar again,I can go back to my old sleeping schedule! Ah! I was so happy, but in just a millisecond,it struck me about how much I would miss Germany! The cold weather, the trams, the food and the people I would miss, but for now,I was just glad I could see my family.

Germany was truly an amazing experience. If I ever get the chance to do it all over again,I wouldn't miss it for the world!
